Year 11 SACE Stage 1 Curriculum Overview

Compulsory subjects
Students study one of the subjects from each group below.

Literacy
Full year of either:
English
English Literary Studies

One semester of:
Essential English 

Numeracy
Semester of either:
Essential Mathematics
General Mathematics A
Mathematics A         
Students wishing to study Mathematics in year 12 must complete at least a full year of either General Mathematics or Mathematics. Students wishing to study Specialist Mathematics in year 12 must complete Mathematics C.

One semester of:
Activating Identities and Futures
Research Practices


Choice subjects
Students choose six other semester subjects in addition to the compulsory subjects.
Music Advanced and Music Experienced can be studied for a semester or a full year.
