Content

The subject combines teacher-directed and independent learning tasks, requiring students to research, analyse, and develop ideas while researching geographic concepts that affect the local community. 

Students learn to communicate personal ideas and concepts based on their geographic understandings. Students will engage in a fieldwork trip to apply the concepts they have learned about rapid urbanisation and environmental degradation to our local community. 

Assessment

Geographical skills and applications  70%

Comprises three tasks:

  • Urban places liveability map - map and maximum 800 words or 5 minutes oral or multimodal response
  • Megacities case study report - 800 words or 5 minutes for oral or multimodal response
  • Urban places fieldwork report - Map and maximum 600 words report

Fieldwork Multimodal Report  30%

Maximum of 1000 words or 6 minutes oral or multimodal response

Additional Information

Students may be required to purchase/source additional materials depending on practical designs and requirements.
