Content

Students investigate and learn about the structure and function of various living organisms and how they interact with other living things and their environments. They can engage with biologists' work and join and initiate debates about how biology impacts their lives, society, and the environment.

Topics may include:

  • Ecosystems
Students investigate diverse ecosystems, explore biotic and abiotic components to dynamic habitats and analyse measurements of certain properties including species interactions and population.
  • Infectious diseases
Students explore infectious diseases' causes and implications for local and global communities. They research historical and contemporary cases, epidemics, and outbreaks to analyse key drivers in the spread and control of the disease. Students also study the range of medical innovations available to combat new and existing threats.
