Content

The study of Physics involves using models, laws, and theories to better understand matter, forces, energy, and their interactions. Physics is based on evidence obtained from observations, measurements, and active experimentation.

Topics may include:

  • Electric circuits
  • Waves
  • Nuclear models and radioactivity

Assessment

Skills and applications tasks  40%

  • Electric circuits and nuclear models and radioactivity test
  • Waves test

Investigations folio  30%

  • Design investigation (1000 words or equivalent multimodal)
  • Science as a human endeavour task  (1000 words or equivalent multimodal)   

Examination  30%

  • 90-minute end-of-semester exam

Additional Information

Students must select Physics A and B to study year 12 Physics.
