Content 

Students develop knowledge, skills, and understanding of mathematical techniques and analyse, interpret, and communicate mathematical information.  

Topics may include:

  • Further differentiation and applications
  • Integral calculus
  • Logarithmic functions
  • Discrete random variables
  • Continuous random variables and the normal distribution
  • Sampling and confidence intervals

Assessment

Skills and applications tasks  50%

  • Six tests - one for each topic
  • One skills and applications task or equivalent must be undertaken without the use of either a calculator or notes

Investigation folio  20%

  • Logistic functions investigation - 15 pages maximum

Examination  30%

  • Students undertake a 130-minute examination
  • The examination is based on the key questions and key concepts in the six topics

Additional Information

Students will require an approved SACE graphics calculator (recommended TI-84 Plus CE)
