Content

Students do not have to play an instrument in this subject but are involved in an off-stage role.

Students demonstrate practical application and develop their knowledge, concepts, and skills through inquiry. They research an area of the music industry they are interested in (songwriting or sound engineering) and produce a practical project of their choice.

Students undertake activities that encourage them to make connections between the music industry and the development of a capability.  They choose a role they want to do in an event, write a 'job application' to the teacher and undertake a mock interview.

Students explore an area of the music industry that interests them. Once they have applied for their role, they work in this role in a group project. The group project could be a student-devised event or a school event like Winter Arts Night.

Music Production is a stage 1 integrated learning subject with 10 SACE credits.
