Content

Students develop their improvisation, performance and analysis skills. The subject will be separated into two key areas:  

Making and performing focuses on the development of devising and performing skills. Practical tasks may include:

  • Professional practice through engagement in a mock production company
  • Character development 
  • Rehearsing of established scripts  

Analysing and responding focuses on developing the ability of students to reflect and analyse their own practice and the practice of others. Analytical tasks may include:

  • Responding to students’ own work through a writer’s statement
  • Analysing a live stage performance or workshop through a review 

Assessment 

Students may be assessed in three areas:

  • Knowledge and immersion in professional practice
  • Performing
  • Responding   

Additional Information

Performance at public events is a requirement of this subject.
