In Drama, students develop their creativity, collaboration, critical thinking and communication skills. They refine their literacy, numeracy, ethical understanding and intercultural understanding and develop self-belief and self-confidence.
Students view and review performance eloquently throughout the Stage 2 course. Students learn to engage meaningfully with others through the creation of a performance. Students refine their skills and increase their confidence as communicators through focused collaborative practical learning opportunities by creating live, multimodal, oral and written products.

Assessment
Group Production 40%
- Task 1: Students participate in a live group performance in an on-stage or off-stage role. Individual assessment as an on-stage performer or presentation about an offstage role - 15 minutes minimum stage time each.
- Task 2: After the production, each student assembles and presents evidence of their learning and skills development in a short video essay or documentary.
Evaluation and Creativity 30%
- Task 1: Students view two live performances and, whilst reviewing the productions, reflect and evaluate how the live performances will inform their own practice in an on or offstage role (1000 words)
- Task 2: Each student develops a concept (or vision) as director, designer, actor or producer of their hypothetical production of our shared text (6-minute presentation)
Creative Presentation 30%
- Part 1: Students form small groups of between two and five and collaborate to conceive, plan and produce a creative dramatic presentation. They individually and collaboratively apply the knowledge, understanding and skills they have learned, to create a dramatic product in a presentation as an ensemble. Students can choose from various roles in their group, including actor, designer, director, filmmaker, and scriptwriter. (10-20 minutes)
- Part 2: Each student provides a justification of their creative decision-making, both collaboratively and individually, through analysis and evaluation of processes and creative choices in the development and finalisation of their dramatic presentation. (5 minutes)
