Content

Students create a connection with natural environments through participation in learning tasks in the environment and develop an understanding of ecosystems and the impact of human actions on ecosystems. They develop knowledge and understanding of environmental systems and their conservation.  

This subject enables students to develop skills in planning and preparation for outdoor journeys, considering risk and conservation practices.  They develop teamwork and practical skills. Students evaluate and reflect on their learning progression and skill development, working in groups, and their relationship with and connection to nature.

Assessment

About Natural Environments  40%

  • Environmental Impacts of Bushwalking - 800 words
  • Environmental Perspectives - 800 words
  • 1600 words combined 

Experiences in Natural Environment   60%

  • Bushwalk Camp - Planning Folio and Reflection
  • Rock Climbing - Planning and Skills Reflection
  • 1600 words combined

Additional Information

There is a subject levy of $375 payable before the first camp/excursion.
